Johnie William Simpler, age 90, born April 18, 1913, in Coffee County, Ala. to Walter and Bobbie Carnley Simpler, passed away at his home at Smokehouse Lake, Bruce, Fla.
Johnie was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Larce Simpler; mother and father; brothers, Buddy and K. V. Simpler, and sister Tina Louette Tanner.
Johnie is survived by his daughter, Jerri Nelson and Bobby; son, Donnie and Joyce Simpler; daughter, Linda and Bill Thompson; daughter, Brenda Brown; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, with funeral services following at 11 a.m. at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony McCullough officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, Fla.
McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home, Niceville, Fla., is entrusted with arrangements.
