Sheryl Kaye Miller, age 70, died peacefully on December 5, 2016 at her home in Marionville, MO.

Sheryl was born September 5, 1946 in Wayne, NE. to the late Walter N. Johnson and the late Irma A. (Hinnerichs) Johnson. Sheryl attended country school until the fourth grade. She then attended grammar school, junior high and part of high school at Wakefield, NE. She graduated high school from South Sioux City, NE. in 1964 before attending the Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, MN. where she graduated as a Registered Medical Technologist in 1966. Sheryl was confirmed into the Lutheran Faith at the age of 14 at Salem Lutheran Church, Dakota City, NE.

On April 16, 1966 Sheryl wed Glenn D. Miller at the Salem Lutheran Church in Dakota City, NE. They met while attending classes in Minneapolis, MN. They started a family and have two children. Glenn and Sheryl have lived many places but spent a large portion of their family life in Phillipsburg, KS. where Sheryl worked at the Phillips County Medical Clinic. In 1985 they moved to Marionville, MO. where Sheryl finished her career and retired in 2013 after 27 years from Mercy Clinic in Aurora, MO.

Sheryl is survived by her husband, Glenn D. Miller of the home; son, Scott (Joy) Miller of Ozark, MO.; daughter, Jodi (Jay) Stafford of Jackson, MO.; two brothers, Kurt (Connie) Johnson of West Mineral, KS. and Brad (Susi) Johnson of Port Charlotte, FL.; four grandchildren, Rylee and Tatum Stafford, Holton and Greydon Miller; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and co-workers, as well as Molly, Sam and Harley.

Sheryl enjoyed camping and out-fishing her family, watching her kids learn to water ski (even though she had a fear of the water). She enjoyed planting, growing flowers and traveling. Her most notable trip was to Guatemala with a group of co-workers to provide medical services to the rural community. She and Glenn made several road trips exploring the country together and stopping at many casinos along the way, a favorite pastime.

Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her reserved yet striking sense of humor along with her deep love and devotion to her family will never be forgotten.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Peterson Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home.Married Glenn Miller 16 April 1966 in Dakota City, NE; dau of Walter Johnson and Irma Hinnerichs
