Jimmy Lee Puckett, 80, of Van, WV was born August 10, 1937 in Clintwood, VA and departed this life on July 20, 2018 at his home after a long illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents Calvin Perry and Oshie Edna Puckett; two brothers Ray and Calvin Puckett; one sister Selma Totten; and two great-grandchildren Jimmy Clayton and Kaylee May Puckett.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 57 years, Linda Kuhn Puckett; one son, Jeremy Puckett (Delease) of Van, WV; two daughters, Tina Ferrell (Ronald) of Lancaster, SC and Teresa Jarrell of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, Ivan Puckett and Paul Puckett both of Uneeda, WV; one sister, Louella West of Florida; four grandchildren, Jimmy Hartman of New Hampshire, Charles Dee Jarrell of North Carolina, Ron Lee Ferrell of South Carolina, and Melinda Holmes of South Carolina; seven great-grandchildren, Alyson Kelly, Loraleigh Kelly, Justin Kelly, Autumn Holmes, Damien Quincy Ferrell, Ayden Lamar Ferrell and Brayden Cameron Holmes; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 23 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Dr. David P. Jarrell of North Carolina officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison, WV.
Receiving of friends will be from noon until service time.
