David O. Glover of Vestal, 82, went peacefully to be with his Lord on Friday evening, July 20, 2018, surrounded by his family following a massive stroke. David is predeceased by his wife of 57 years Norma, parents Herman and Gladys Glover, in-laws Lester and Irene (Walker) Chilson, infant daughter Lisa, sister Erma Travis, brother Daniel Glover, sister-in-law Ruth Chilson, and brother-in-law Tom Tinklepaugh. David is survived by his daughters Robin (Tom) Guth, Carol (Ed) Hogan and grandchildren Mark (Lauren), Sean, and Maria Hogan; and great grandson David Hogan. He is also survived by his best friend and companion of three years Jan Hallock; brother Norman Glover, sisters Betty Kawalko and Marla Tinklepaugh, brother-in-law Loyd Chilson and sister-in-law Eletha Glover; and numerous nieces and nephews. David graduated from Thompson High School, Thompson, PA, where he met and married his high school sweetheart. He served in Japan in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne. He retired from NYSEG after 36 years of service. He was an active member of Men for Missions and he always lent a helping hand to those in need, including Rescue Mission of Binghamton and Habitat for Humanity. David enjoyed bowling, baseball, playing card games, traveling to all 50 states, and spending time with family and friends. He brought joy to everyone he met with his great sense of humor and outgoing personality. He was a well-loved member of Pierce Hill Christian Fellowship of Vestal.
