--1948 graduated of University of NC-Chapel Hill, where she was one of the earliest female pharmacy students. She was inducted into Rho Chi, the pharmacy honor society.
--Occupation: Pharmacist. She was the first woman to head a hospital pharmacy in the state of North Carolina. She worked at Rowan Memorial Hospital (now Novant Health Rowan Medical Center). During much of that time her husband owned and operated Granite Drug Company in Granite Quarry.
--She married Charl H. Sanders on Sept. 3, 1948 in Alleghany County. They were blessed with 3 daughters: Sherri, Niki, and Charlotte. She had 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
--In retirement, Pat enjoyed biking thru England, Ireland, Netherlands, France and Austria.
