Arrangements are with Nelson-Martin Funeral Service of Redwood Falls.
The family suggests memorial donations to a charity of your choice or to Morgan Memorial Foundation, Gil-Mor Manor, for Garden and Landscape projects in Lorraine Fox’s memory.
Lorraine Alma Jankowsky was born to Ferdinand and Martha Renz Jankowksy on April 24, 1925, in Eau Claire, WI. In 1945 Lorraine married Lyle Howard Fox. Together they raised four children, moving from Wisconsin to Redwood Falls in 1955, where Lyle taught math at Redwood Falls High School for over 40 years.
Lorraine prided herself on being a stay-at-home mom and community volunteer. She volunteered in the local hospital gift shop, served as a judge at local area flower shows, and held numerous leadership positions at St. John’s Lutheran Church all the while focusing first and foremost upon her family.
Lorraine was kind, caring, and extremely creative. She enjoyed all things lovely – from music, to art, to flowers. She was an avid gardener; she raised African violets which she gave as gifts to shut-ins, and she loved to share tours of her flower garden every summer. She created beautiful flower arrangements for her home and family, and she shared these with her community where she won numerous awards for her flower arranging. Music was her passion. Lorraine’s beautiful singing voice covered the full range, from soprano to bass. She played the piano and violin, and for several years Lorraine directed the church choirs at St. John’s.
She will be deeply missed by her immediate surviving family which includes daughters Susan, Karen, Penny and Thomas; eight grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and sister Arlene Jankowsky. She was preceded in death by sisters Margaret Bergerson and Lauretta Miller of Eau Claire, WI, and by her brother Edwin Jankowsky of Park Rapids, MN. Her beloved husband, Lyle Fox, preceded Lorraine in death in 1997.
