Word has been received here of the death of a former resident, Mrs. Mary A. (Westlake) Gates, 91, Wednesday at Evanston, Illinois. She died in the Presbyterian home where she had lived the past eight years. Born in Lafayette, she lived here until moving to Chicago in 1903. Her husband, Edward Gates, died in 1919. He was a stockman.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harry S. Cowles, of Wheaton. Ill., and a sister. Miss Margaret Westlake, living at the Evanston Presbyterian home.
