Staff Sgt. Glendon E. Harris, of North Monmouth, Maine. On October 24, 1943, he was aboard a B-25D-1 Mitchell bomber which departed Oro Bay Airfield in New Guinea on a bombing run of enemy targets in Rabaul. As the aircraft neared its target, it was attacked by Japanese fighter aircraft. Crewmen from other aircraft said they saw the B-25 crash near a plantation at Kabanga Point. There were no survivors. His remains were returned home in November 2006. SSGT Harris's name also appears on Manila American (ABMC) Cemetery and Memorial in Manila, Philippines on the Tablets of the Missing. Glendon's siblings were: Eleanor (Roberts), Lila Mae Harris, Alta (Baker), Lewis, Emory, Oren, David and Ronald. He was the Grandson of David Marston and Annie Eliza (Rideout) Harris, Great-Grandson of, Ezekeil Delano and Eunice S. (Martson) Harris and Great-Great-Grandson of Larrabee and Judith (Delano) Harris.
