The Evening Star (Washington, D.C.) July 13, 1899 page 12.
At 4:10 yesterday afternoon occurred the death of Mrs. Jennie Huling, wife of John B. Davis of this city, at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Mary Piatt Brown, Williamsport, Pa. The deceased was a daughter of the late ex-Sheriff and Mrs. John Piatt of Williamsport, and previous to her marriage resided there. She had been failing for almost a year and everything possible was done for her. Several months ago she was taken to the Wernersville Sanitarium, near Reading. While there she expressed a desire to go to her former home, and she was taken to Williamsport. For a while the change seemed to benefit her, but she finally grew worse. Several days ago she was thought to be dying, but she said she would live until the 12th before she passed away, and her words came true.
Besides her husband, who was with her when she died, she leaves a sister, Mrs. Mary Piatt Brown; a brother, Joseph G. Piatt, and a niece, Miss Bessie Nelson and a host of friends to mourn her loss.
The funeral will be held from Christ Episcopal Church, Williamsport, Friday afternoon, the hour of which will be announced later. Interment will be made in the Williamsport cemetery.
