Ruth "George" Johnson, 50, Norman, died at Memorial Hospital, Seymour. She was a member of the Clearspring Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was born April 14, 1947 in Seymour to the late Clarence F and Alma Hubbard Niewedde. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She married Gary D Johnson on Dec 4, 1972 in Brownstown, and he survives. Other survivors include one son, Fred A Johnson, Medora; one sister, Rita Nowland, Clearspring; two nieces, Misty Nowland and Joni Jo Nowland, both of Seymour; one great-niece, Donna Jo Nowland, Seymour, and one great nephew, Alex Sheckles, Seymour. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Spurgeon Funeral Home in Brownstown with Stan Thomas officiating. Burial was in Clearspring Cemetery.
