Carolyn Joy Jones, 65, of Freeport went to be with her wonderful Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. She was born August 13, 1942, in Bay City, Texas. Carolyn was a member of Freedom Worship Church, loved the Lord and always was active in church. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the Freedom Worship Church in Freeport. Burial will follow at Gulf Prairie Cemetery in Jones Creek. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2007, at the Free Worship Church. Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Jones; sons, John Jones and Paul Strother; brother, Stephen Strother; numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Marilyn, brothers Leslie, Tommy and Danny Strother.
