Mrs. Katie Lou Waters, age 93 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday June 17, 2019 at her daughter's home.

She was born February 2, 1926 in Calhoun, GA, a daughter of the late George and Blanche (Flowers) Dean. She was also preceded in death by her husband in 1992, Cecil Edward Waters, son in 1997, Danny Edward Waters, brothers, D.L. Dean, Esco Dean, Fred Dean, sisters, Pearl Ray, Jane Pulliam, Jessie Hill. She was a member of the Westview Baptist Church for 67 years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Don Amonett of Rocky Face, GA; grandchildren, Scott Waters (Liz) of Tunnel Hill, GA, Andrea Waters, Rham Amonett of Dalton, GA, Nick Amonett (Shari) of Rocky Face, GA; great grandchildren, Shania Waters, Damon Waters, Taylor Grace Amonett, J.P. Amonett; great great grandchildren, Jax Waters, Gracie Waller; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Katie Lou Waters will be held Thursday June 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Tommy Deal and Reverend Roger Stover officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Scott Waters, Damon Waters, Rham Amonett, Nick Amonett, Mike Amonett, Rathel Daves, Kevin Daves and Mel Pierce serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
