JoAnn (Weil) Duncan, 84, Swayzee, received her eternal reward at 11:14 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018, while at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, on June 15, 1934, to the late Joseph H. and Angie (McHaney) Weil.

JoAnn graduated from Tupelo High School in 1952. Two years later, on March 28, 1954, she married Homer L. Duncan, and they had three children---Jeffrey, Lee Ann, and Michael. JoAnn was a homemaker who served her family and husband faithfully throughout her life. She was a member of the Swayzee United Methodist Church since the mid-1950s, as well as a member of Swayzee UM Women. She was also a past board member of the Swayzee Public Library, where she frequented.

JoAnn and her family loved going to Fairhope, Alabama, where they spent many winters together. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything and cherished her time with them. JoAnn will be remembered as a very honest, friendly, and loving woman.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Homer; children, Jeffrey W. (Cathy) Duncan, Swayzee, Lee Ann Teumer, Fairhope, Alabama, and Michael E. Duncan, Slidell, Louisiana; Grandma and Memaw’s grandchildren, Michelle S. Duncan, Monterey, California, Emily K. Teumer, Fairhope, Alabama, Mitchell R. Teumer, Fairhope, Alabama, and Lauren E. Teumer, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Joseph (Celeste) Weil, North Augusta, South Carolina, and Stephen (Linda) Weil, Tupelo, Mississippi; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Also preceding her in death were her grandson, Kevin W. Duncan; two brothers, Robert and Billy; sister, Jeanette Moore; and several friends.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.

JoAnn’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018, with Pastor Mike Morrell officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery. Additional visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 10:30 to 11:30.
