George D. Hudson age 64 of Brockton died July 11, 2018 at the W. Roxbury VA Medical Cemetery. He was the husband of Eileen (Hannon) Hudson. George was born and raised in Chelsea a son of Geraldine (Knapp) Hudson of E. Boston and the late George A. Hudson. He had lived in Brockton for almost 40 years.

A graduate of Somerville Northeast High School, George served in the US Army during the Vietnam War in the 14th Engineer Battalion. He had been a life member of the DAV.

For 24 years George had been a housekeeper at the Brockton VA Medical Center and retired in 2016. In his free time, George enjoyed traveling and coin collecting. He had a full collection of certified Morgan silver dollars.

In addition to his wife and mother, George is survived by 3 children Anthony Hannon of Arizona, John Foley of Brockton and Christopher Foley of Arizona, a sister Linda Sawicki of NH and a brother Mark Hudson of Saugus. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and two cats Twinkie and Casper.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Wednesday 9-12 noon immediately followed by a funeral service. Burial in the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne at 2pm. Please omit flowers and consider a donation in George’s name to the MSPCA/ANGELL-BOSTON, 350 South Huntington Ave. Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
