Paul C. Tilley, passed away on February 1, 2018, with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 21, 1936, at the townsite in Bucksport, by home delivery to parents, Louis and Sarah (Carr) Tilley.

He attended Bucksport Schools and graduated from Bucksport High School in 1954. Paul joined the Navy on May 16,1961, serving on the USS Cromwell as a machinist's mate. After his service, he worked at Cropley & Jewett in Bucksport, Delta Chemical in Searsport and in 1964 went to St. Regis in Bucksport as a pipefitter for 33 years, retiring in1998.

On October 31, 1964, he married Barbara Herbest of Prospect and they were married for 53 years. Paul and his wife operated the Corner Store in Prospect for 7 years. Paul loved German Shepherds and antique cars and belonged to the Costal Antique Auto Club for several years with his prize 1959 Plymouth Fury Sports Car convertible.

He was predeceased by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Hayward and Ruth Haley; his brother, Richard "Dick" Tilley; a son, Thomas Herbest; and a daughter, Debbie Herbest Valenoti. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Rosemarie Webster; daughter and husband, Lisa and Dwayne Sutherland; sister-in-law, Nell "Kiki" Tilley; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was very excited to find out he would be again welcoming great-grandtwins in July. He will be greatly missed by his faithful companion, his dog, Daisy.
