Mrs. Patsy Ruth Hite West, age 85 of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday morning, July 19, 2018. She was born September 9, 1932 in Bartow County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Henry Richard Hite and the late Maude Beatrice Prewett. She was a retiree of Sony Music and was a member of Rotherwood Congregational Methodist Church in Whitesburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry West; and two brothers, Monroe Hite and J. C. Hite. Survivors include children: Rudene Green of Mt. Zion, Calvin West of Atlanta, David West (Dianne) of Carrollton, Vinceon West of Carrollton, Clyde West (Patsy), also of Carrollton, and Windom West (Jan) of Maryland; sister, Nancy Gladney of Whitesburg; brother, Johnny Hite (Jossie) of Whitesburg; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Matt Moore, Rev. Gary Brown, and Rev. Frank Umphrey officiating. Grandchildren serving as pallbearers will be J. J. Gentry, Jason West, Edwin Ivey, Michael West, Jamie West, Justin Cox, Nicholas West and Carter West. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with grandson, Edwin Ivey to render “Amazing Grace” on bagpipes.
