Joseph Kelly Pratt Jr.
Joseph Pratt Jr., age 71, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2018 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Joseph was born on June 22, 1947, the son of Joseph "Kelly" and Phyllis Florence Morison Pratt. On May 22 1970, he was united in marriage to Sherry Lorraine Trabue in Shelbina, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2008.
He is survived by his five children, Sharon Dale (Pratt) of Watertown, TN, Lisa Bowden (Pratt) of Mexico, MO, Joseph Pratt III of Shelbyville, MO, Timothy Pratt of Quincy, IL, and Mack Pratt (Hunt) of Columbia, MO, 18 grandkids, and 6 great grandkids, two brothers, Jesse Pratt of Shelbina, MO, and David Pratt of Lamar, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parent and one grandson, Jakob Pratt.
Joseph graduated from Bolivar High School in 1965 and enlisted in the US Army completing basic training from August 1st to October 15th in Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. He was stationed in Savanna GA. Upon completion of training he went to Vietnam where he served two tours as a helicopter crewman. He later attended the University of Missouri Columbia Law Enforcement training from 1972-1973 and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement in 1973. That year he also attended the Central Missouri State University for criminal justice administration.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri, with Mitchell Seaton as the officiant. A visitation will precede the funeral service from 10am to 11am at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Donor's choice.
