Doris Louise Jeter Mason, 87, of Duncanville was called home by her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 25th, 2018.
Louise was born October 3rd, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to Minnie Essie Stalcup Jeter and William Franklin Jeter. She was an Oak Cliff girl and graduated from Dallas Crozier Tech High School in 1948. She was a Christian and loved Jesus. She played the piano for her church for a while and later sang gospel music in a ladies trio. Louise was the bookkeeper for Mason Plumbing for many years while working part-time accounting jobs with Sears and many other local businesses.
She and her husband, Norman Mason, raised two wonderful daughters, Debbie and Cindy. She always supported them in their every endeavor.
Louise was a bright spirit who was quick-witted and loved to laugh. Her laugh was contagious; she loved to make others laugh, and she did this with great ease. She was adventurous and loved to travel. She and her adoring husband of 60 years would travel all over the United States in their travel trailer after he retired. She was the navigator and the fun finder, often embarking on adventures that made them feel like kids again. She taught her daughters and granddaughter that you are never too old to have fun and be silly.
She and Norman square danced for years. She enjoyed playing games and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and making crafts. Family and friends were extremely important to her, and she would go to great lengths to spend time with them. Her most enjoyable time was being a playmate to her granddaughter Carey. She was the best playmate a young girl could ever have.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Mason and Cindy Talley; son-in-law, Richard Talley; granddaughter, Carey Lowdermilk; and grandson-in-law, John Lowdermilk; niece Suzanne Greer Duett and husband Larry; niece Viki Greer Slate; niece Marsha Jeter Countryman and husband Jack; nephew Bill Jeter; and many other loved family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Norman L. Mason; mother Minnie Essie Stalcup Jeter Oates Gaither; father William Franklin Jeter; brother Frank Jeter; and sister Marion Jeter Greer Cade.
She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. She was an amazing person, a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, and a precious Nana. She is now reunited with Norman, her true love.
We love you till the end of the numbers.
