Walter A. Meads, a well known and highly respected citizen of this county, residing near Alviso, died after a long and painful illness on Monday evening, October 16, 1911. The deceased man was a native of Santa Clara County and at the time of his death was 45 years, 1 month and 16 days of age. He was the eldest son of John W. and the late Agnes L. Meads and brother of Charles A. and Norman L. Meads, residing near Alviso, Mrs. W. H. Selby of San Jose and Mrs. R. C. Davis of Alameda.
Mr. Meads was for many years closely identified with the business, social and political life of this county, and served as a member of the State Legislature as Assembly man from 56th Assembly District at the 31st session, held in 1895. He was also for many years a member of the Board of Trustees of Alviso School District.
