Evelyne Anna (Kral) Anderson, 92, of Stromsburg, passed away July 17, 2018 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg, with Pastor Brenda Pfeifly officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.

Evelyne was born Sept. 23, 1925 at Daykin, Nebraska, the oldest of four girls to Albert and Agnes (Pecka) Kral. She graduated from Sargent High School in 1942.

On Jan. 31, 1948 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Anderson. To this union four children were born, Dale, Shirley, Gary and Roger. They farmed near Stromsburg, moving into town in 1976.

Besides being a farm wife, Evelyne worked for 38 years at the Midwest Covenant Home as an aide, helped Gilbert at the Stromsburg Cemetery for 16 years and recycled for many years. She enjoyed bowling, playing pitch, gardening, quilting and crossword puzzles.

In 2003 she was honored as Stromsburg’s Super Swede at the Swedish Festival.

Evelyne was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church and the Friendly Families Extension Club. She was very proud of her Czech heritage.

Preceding her in death were an infant son, Dale in 1949; her husband Gilbert who passed away in 2004; sisters Dorothy Casteel and Lorraine Kral.

Survivors include daughter, Shirley (Bill) Pliefke of Osceola, sons, Gary (Maxine) of Lincoln and Roger (Karen) of Blue Hill; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Mildred (Reynold) Hladky, of Bee and brother-in-law, Tom Casteel of Lincoln, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
