Darren Elmore of Reevesville were held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Lovely Hill Baptist Convention Center in St. George with Rev. Keith Void officiating. Burial was held in Target AME Church Cemetery in Holly Hill.

On Tuesday, June 26, 2018, God saw that one of his angels was getting tired, so he whispered to Darren and said, "Take My Hand". He closed his eyes and went home to be with his Lord.

Darren was born on August 7, 1975 in Lois. He was the son of Mrs. Gloria Lewis and the late Mr. Daniel Little. He attended St. George High and graduated with the class of 1994. He worked as a construction worker at Eadie's Construction Site and he was also a Fire-Rescuer at the Dorchester County Fire Department. He was everyone's favorite "DJ Vicious", he always had the crowd moving.

He had a love for God, his children, his family and dear friends. With all the love Darren gave everyone, we know he stepped on the Promise Land, and found it to be heaven. He touched a hand and it was God's; he breathed new air and it was celestial; for when he closed his eyes, he woke up in glory to find that he was home.

Darren leaves to cherish his memories and hold him close in heart his children, Akasha Carter of N.C., Darneesha Elmore of Wisconsin, Darren Elmore of Holly Hill, Darieon Elmore of Bowman, Delontae Elmore of Reevesville, and Ariayan Elmore of Reevesville; two step-daughters, Dazhae Butler and Janiya Butler, both of Bowman; his mother, Mrs. Gloria Lewis of Reevesville; his sister, Gloria (Frederick) Hilliard of Reevesville; his brother, McAuther Lewis of Reevesville; a grandchild, Korhon Admir'e Carter of N.C.; grandfather, Heyward Little of Elloree; aunts, Dorothy Cokely, Barbara Clark, Deloris (Cleven) Grant, all of Holly Hill, Deloris Elmore of St. George, and Minnie Lee Jones of N.C.; uncles, James, Jr. (Sadie) Elmore of Nicolas, Curtis (Rosalyn) Elmore of Baltimore, Md., the late Willie (Mary Clay) Elmore of St. George, Ervin (Tammy) Elmore of Baltimore, Md., and Henry (Sallie) Elmore of St. George; special cousins, Randy Williams, Shermaine Elmore, Reggie Brown, and Vern Elmore; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Deceased Name: Darren Elmore: Slain Man Laid to Rest

Lifelong local resident Darren Elmore was laid to rest in his family cemetery Thursday afternoon at the Target AME Church in Holly Hill. The service was held with full-firefighter's honors, as befitting his status as a volunteer firefighter, and numerous engines and tanker's made the journey from St. George, where a memorial service was held earlier at the Lovely Hill Baptist Convention Center. The service, lasting for over two hours, was witnessed by an overflowing crowd of friends, relatives and co-workers and recognized Elmore and his accomplishments in life.

Darren Elmore was shot to death in the late afternoon of June 26 as he mowed the yard of his estranged wife. Ella LaQuarles Harrison-Elmore was arrested and charged in the killing of her husband. She remains in the Dorchester County Jail after bond was denied.
