Jake Harrison was born October 16, 1932 to M.C. Clinton and Ardessa Harrison in Garrison, Texas. Jake passed away on July 5, 2018 at home in Menlo Park, California where he had lived since 1959.

Jake is a graduate of Dunbar High School in Lufkin, Texas, where he resided until joining the Navy in 1952. While in the Navy, Jake received the Korean Service Medal, amongst other awards. Jake then built a career in the Naval Department as a shipfitter, from which he retired in 1985. Jake enjoyed tinkering with cars, gardening and fishing.

Jake was preceded in death in 2009 by Florence, his wife of 55 years.

Jake is survived by two daughters, Mary Oliver Sweet and Lottie Myles, grandchildren Sharonne Oliver, Dion Oliver and Jade Kwan, great-grandchildren Monay Oliver and Jake Jameson Scott, and a host of family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, July 12 at 7 p.m. at Redwood Chapel, 847 Woodside Road, Redwood City, CA 94061. Funeral service Friday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at Redwood Chapel. Followed by a graveside service at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, 695 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, CA 94306. Concluding the graveside service family invites you to a reception at the East Palo Alto Senior Center, 560 Bell Street, East Palo Alto, CA 94303.
