Howard, Russell James, age 57, of Newport News Va. passed away on 15 July 2018 while exercising on a walking path near his home.

Russell was a graduate of Sheridan High School, Thornville, OH and The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. His Major at OSU was marketing and he spent several years employed in that discipline. He also has worked in the Army Air Force Exchange Service at Wright Patterson AFB; has been employed as a Loan Officer in the Dayton area; and has performed as a subcontractor in the home building trade. He enjoyed challenges in his work and always earned high appraisals for his work ethic.

Russell was a stellar athlete in track and field in High School and College and earned the All Frosh trophy at OSU during his Freshman Year. His high school track records are unbroken to this day. He truly loved his family, cherished life and lived it to its fullest. He simply loved to make people laugh. He never met a stranger because he always shared himself unconditionally with everyone he met. Gone too soon is this high spirited young man but we do know and accept that he now rests in the secure, loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. There is no better place!

He is preceded in death by Warner Howard, who was the second born of triplet boys.

He leaves to cherish his memory his Mother, Nona Howard and his Dad, Olin Howard; his brothers Warren Howard (Traci) and their son Dallas); Wayne Howard (Merrion) and their daughters Nakia and Nisha; Roland Howard (Krista) and son Demario; Reginald Howard (India) 2 sons, Regan and Chancellor and daughter Daia; and his sister Stephanie Miller (Paul) and their daughters Danielle and her child Valentina; Faye Pettway (Jeffrey) and their daughter N’Mya and their son Oliver; Megan; and son Paul III; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will greet friends from 2 - 4 PM, 22 July at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, 23 July, at St Luke Catholic Church, 1440 North Fairfield Rd, Beavercreek, OH. Burial will follow Mass at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, 27 S Fairfield Rd, Beavercreek, OH.
