Virgil Lynn Reeves, age 71, of San Angelo passed away Friday morning at Shannon Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born November 18, 1946 in Odessa, the son of Virgle and Wanda Webster Reeves. He graduated from high school and later served in the U. S. Marines Corp during the Viet Nam War. He had lived in San Angelo for the past twelve years moving from McCamey. He worked as a groundskeeper for the San Angelo Independent School District and was a member of the College Hills Baptist Church.

He will be remembered as a very loving and caring family man who lived his life with strong determination. He will be greatly missed by his wife and family. He also loved all his pets unconditionally.

He is survived by his wife Carey Reeves of San Angelo, a son, Shawn Hernandez, a daughter, Careissy Guerrero, a daughter, Erica Guerrero, and a son, Eric Guerrero, Jr. all of San Angelo, a sister, Kay Hext of Brady, six grandsons, Ben and Stephen Pratt, Pasqualee, Don, Wyatt and Santiago and a great granddaughter. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Cheryl and Virgle Reeves and several brothers and sisters.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, July 18 at College Hills Baptist Church, 2102 Johnson St. His body was cremated under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
