Mrs. Barbara Rayburn Childers, age 86 of Aragon, Georgia passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014.
Mrs. Childers was born November 16, 1927 in Polk County, daughter of the late Ollie S. Rayburn and the late Gertrude Caldwell Rayburn. She was a member of the Euharlee Baptist Church of Aragon and retired from the Arrow Shirt Company with 20 years of service. Mrs. Childers was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Bobby E. Childers on November 20, 2009; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Dunaway and Mrs. Clora Campbell; and three brothers, Mr. Frank Rayburn, Mr. Jack Rayburn and Mr. Audie Rayburn.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Steve Hopper and Teresa and Jim Smith all of Rockmart; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Dona Childers of Rockmart; five brothers, J. C. Rayburn, Joe Rayburn, Randy Rayburn, Doug Rayburn and Delmar Rayburn; six grandchildren, Shana Hopper, Ryan Smith, Tyson Smith, Ashley Streetman, Jason Cline and Bobby Childers; eight great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Childers will be held on Friday, August 8th at 3:00 p.m. in the Euharlee Baptist Church of Aragon with Rev. Josh Cowart and Rev. Stephen Moore officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the Aragon Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Delmar Rayburn, Doug Rayburn, Joe Rayburn, Randy Rayburn, J. C. Rayburn and Aubrey Davis.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, August 7th between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m.
