Johnston - Margaret Ann "Peg" Paul of Johnston died on April 25, 2018.

She was born on March 14, 1923, to John and Avilla (Eisheild) Paul in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Corpus Christi Academy in Fort Dodge in 1940.

Margaret graduated from Avila College in Kansas City, Mo. She later earned her Master's Degree from Creighton University in Omaha and St. Mary's University of California. She served with the Sisters of Mercy from 1944 to 1974.

When she returned to Iowa, she worked for the Department of Human Services and volunteered for many years with a variety of organizations including Drake University's adult tutoring program, Mercy Hospice, and the Shepard Center (where she served as director). In her later years, she volunteered for the United Way. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale.

During her retirement, she took up playing the organ, cross-stitch, writing her poetry in earnest and working on her coloring books.

She loved God, her Rosary beads, and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Paul, three nieces and six nephews.

The family would like to thank Bishop Drumm Care Facility for her care for the last two years, and the staff at Mercy Hospice for their care and compassion in the last days of her life.
