Norma D. Burgess, age 80, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and formerly of Gracey, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Ms. Burgess worked for S.H. Kress & Company, later McCrory's and then Fred's, in Hopkinsville, for nearly 40 years. She was a member of Little River Baptist Church in Herndon, Kentucky.

She is survived by five sisters, Rhonda Burgess, Mary Jo (Thomas H.) King, Linda Thomas, Annie Jaynes, and Karen Burgess, all of Hopkinsville; three nieces, Anita (Steve) Austin, Melissa (Jamie) Murray, and Tracey Hestand; and two nephews, Gerard (Amy) Jaynes and Kenneth Wayne Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A.B. "Pete" and Mary Lee Morris Burgess, and one sister, Betty Joyce Burgess.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Goodwin Funeral Home, with Reverend Bill Morris and Reverend Shane Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Burgess Cemetery in Christian County.
