OBITUARY
MR. FRANK P. BEATTY.
The funeral took place yesterday afternoon to the Mackay cemetery of Mr. Frank Percy Beatty, of Sarina. There was a large attendance of friends despite the heavy rain. The coffin was covered with the Union Jack and the Returned Soldiers' League was represented. The service at the graveside was conducted by Rev. Mr. Dark, of the Church of England, Sarina, and the "Last Post" was sounded by Bugler C. Graham. As a young man, the late Mr. Beatty saw service in the Boer War. In 1906 he married Miss Queenie Taylor. As an officer of the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney, he acted as relieving manager at Mackay and filled the office of manager at Sarina and Innisfail. While there he resigned his position and purchased the agency business of Mr. D. McKee, at Sarina, where he resided until the time of his death. He had one son, Mr. W. F. Beatty, of Mackay. Brothers are Messrs. S. S. and W. M. Beatty, of Sydney, and sisters Mrs. Weiske, of Bundaberg and Mrs. Reg. Moody. His wife predeceased him some years ago.
