Professional Baseball Player. He played the shortstop and 3rd base positions for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1937 season. Born Anthony Francis Malinosky, he attended Whittier College in Whittier, California. Originally signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates, his contract was sold to the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1936. His only professional season saw him accumulate a batting average of .228 in 79 batting appearance that produced 18 hits, no home runs and 3 runs batted in. During World War II he was drafted by the US Army and saw action at the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. Following the war, he worked at North American Aviation and then owned and operated a trailer park in California. In 2009 he was honored by the Los Angeles Dodgers on the occasion of his 100th birthday. At the time of his death, he was the oldest living former Major League Baseball player.
