Bill was born May 15, 1953 in Greenfield, Iowa to Donald and Shirley (Hughes) Bolton. He grew up in Winterset, Iowa. He graduated from Winterset High School and American Institute of Business. He drove for QwikTrip for 25 years and retired from Dean Paulson and Sons where he worked for 10 years. In 1995 he was united in marriage to Julia Vasquez Cimeley and they made their home in Johnston and later moved to West Des Moines.
Bill loved his family and enjoyed playing golf, softball and racquetball. He was an active member of Lutheran Church of Hope, including the choir and never missed his Thursday morning bible study with his brothers in Christ, who are lovingly called P.I.G.S. (Pretty Interesting Guy Stuff). But overall Bill was an excellent witness as a loving father and husband. Bill fought hard to adopt his niece and nephews so they could be “one” family.
Bill is survived by his mother, Shirley; wife, Julia; eight children, Andria Bolton, Nick (Jamie) Bolton, Brandon (Jackie) Bolton, Chris (Rebekka) Cimeley, Dominic (Mary) Cimeley, Caylyn Wallace, George Wallace and RJ Wallace; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Winter, Cooper, Joseph, Everly, Beau and Makenzie; two sisters, Deb Perkins and Lisa (Gary) Smith and their families. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald and grandson, Chance Bolton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his family or Hope Lodge in Iowa City. For additional information and online condolences please visit www.IlesCares.com.
