Mrs. Cora Kassel
ELWOOD -- Mrs. Cora (Gardner) Kassel, 80, died at the home of a niece Mrs. Fred Crume of Alexandria at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, after an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 11, 1889, in Madison County, a daughter of John and Mazina Bricker. She was married in 1909 to Fred Gardner, who died in 1919. The late Emil Kassel was her second husband. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Erea of Hobart and Mrs. Helen Cartwright of Valparaiso; one son, Glenn Gardner of Elwood; five grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at the Clark Chapel with Rev. Ed Finley of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Elwood City Cemetery.
Friends are being received at the mortuary.
