Earlene S. Davis, 92, of Crozet, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018. She was born in Afton, Va. on July 15, 1926, to Emmett Shifflett and Triddy Morris.

Mom was affectionately known to many as Nanny due to her many years of taking care of a countless number of children. Mom was a strong willed, steadfast, energetic, lady to the very end. Her love for family and children was unwavering with a heart of gold.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Davis of 62 years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Larkin Woolfrey; son, Larkin A Woolfrey, her sisters and brothers, Emmett A. Shifflett Jr., Myrtle S. Rice, Linda Beilk, and Sandra Davis.

She is also survived by her daughters, Priscilla bowman and Gary, Judy Steele, and Rebecca Davis; her sons, Billy Davis and Jenny, and Mike Davis and Karen; seven grandchildren, Troy Zeller, Wendy Zeller, Gabrielle Chavinny, Kristina Strickler, Mike Davis, Ashley Moore, and Cody Davis; her sister, Nancy Verone; brother William J. Shifflett; her daughter-in-law, Linda Woofrey; and her dear great-grandchildren, Aiden Chavigny, Taylor Strickler, Briana Strickler, Hayley Davis, Hannah Davis, Sophia Moore, Olivia Moore, and Caiden Davis. We will miss her dearly but know she is in the presence of God.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Crozet Baptist Church, Crozet, Va., and interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, Va., with the Rev. Victor Morris and the Rev. Paul Hollifield officiating. Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
