Mr. John (Jack) Dark, age 88, of Spring Lake passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 in Zeeland, Mi. He was born to the late Lawrence and Esther (Lawless) Dark on June 21, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Mi. John proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1950 thru 1952. He married the former Joyce Blauwkamp on June 7, 1975 in Zeeland. John was in sales for many years with Wyeth Laboratories after which time he owned a Service Master franchise in Ottawa and Allegan Counties. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post #28. John loved to be outside in his flower garden and feeding all the beautiful birds. He will lovingly be remembered his wife, Joyce, 2 sisters-in-law, Dr. Alison Dark, Grand Rapids & Ethel Teusink of Holland. Also surviving are many nieces and nephew. John was preceded in death siblings including; Mary Kathryn Dark, Father Larry Dark, Michael Dark, Dorothy Hieshetter, Hattie Blauwkamp, Dick (Bertha) Blauwkamp, Henrietta (Art) Sterken, Bert (Ruth) Blaukamp, Harold (Lucille) Blauwkamp, Janet (Stan) Voss, Sid Teusink and Gladys Blauwkamp. The Mass Of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father David Gross officiating. Friends may meet the family 3—6 p.m. Sunday at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the American Legion Post #28. Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or School or Hospice Of Holland.
