John L. Gadd, age 81 of Berea, passed away after a brief illness at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
John was born in Rockcastle County to the late Casper and Charity Gadd. He retired from NACCO Industries. He loved being with the Lord’s people and faithfully attended many churches for their services. John had a loving personality and enjoyed being around friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, John and Lavada Rowland; step-daughter, Brenda Richardson; two brothers, Billy Ray Gadd and Robert Gadd; and one sister, Betty Coffey.
He is survived by his loving wife Opal Baker Gadd; five children, Doug (Kathy) Gadd, Geraldine (Doug) Ford, Kay (Jesse) Adams, Jimmy Wayne Gadd, and Daisy (Michael) Richardson; two siblings Rosie (Teddy) Elam and Donald Gadd; ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11am, Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Crestview Holy Sanctuary with Bro. Leonard Wilder, Bro. Earmon Turner, and Bro. Bobby Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday evening after 6pm at Crestview Holy Sanctuary.
Pallbearers will be Lee Gadd, Jonathan Gadd, Stuart Barnes, Anthony Dickerson, Quentin Barnes, and Greg Elam. Honorary bearers will be Brent Richardson, Chris Richardson, Tony Gadd, and Brennan Barnes.
