Nadine Margaret Cecil-Roberts, 107, of Sedalia, died in Sedalia on Sunday, July 15, 2018.

She was born September 25, 1910, in Sedalia, daughter of the late William Wesley and Louisa (McClure) Cecil. She was married to Charles Raymond Roberts in Sedalia in 1929. He preceded her in death September 4, 1981.

Nadine lived a full, healthy and contented life in Sedalia except for a brief period in a trailer near job sites where her husband supervised the construction of military barricks during World War II. They were the parents of three sons, all educated in Sedalia and at the University of Missouri School of Engineering; Jack Roberts, of Kansas City, Charles Roberts, of Sedalia, formerly of Redondo Beach, CA, and Cecil Gerald Roberts, of Houston, TX, named after his mothers’ brother, the late Gerald Cecil, of Sedalia; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Most of Nadine’s friends have passed except for her close friend, Grace Hesterly, of Sedalia, who often refers to herself as Nadine’s “adopted” baby sister.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Melvin, Elver, Roy, Cleo, Bill and Gerald Cecil; and a sister, Dorothy Mitchell.

Funeral service will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel led by Broadway Presbyterian Church minister, Pastor Rob Hughes, where Nadine was a long-standing member. Visitation will take place from 10:30 am until service time. Nadine will be interred at the Memorial Park Cemetery next to her husband, Raymond, and near her Cecil family members.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Broadway Presbyterian Women’s Association Fund in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
