Glenda Faye Stephens Yates 79, went to meet her Heavenly Father, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 while living in Lake City, FL. Born on July 2, 1939 in Hollywood, FL to Carroll and Eloise Hagler Stephens. After they moved to Ft Meade Glenda met her husband of 59 years while attending Ft Meade Jr-Sr High School. After marrying on December 20th 1958, they lived in Bowling Green, FL until 1979 when they moved to Ft Meade. A loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother of 3, Glenda always took care of her family. Glenda played a vital role in her family being a stay at home mom and homemaker. Glenda loved children and enjoyed babysitting, she also loved helping others doing so when she could and even assisted with the Meals on Wheels program. Glenda was preceded in death by her father Carroll, mother Eloise, and husband Richard. Those left to mourn her passing are daughter Cynthia (Jim) Massey, son Stephen (Michele) Yates, son Kevin (Julie) Yates, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 more on the way, sister Phillis (Therrell) Luke, along with multiple nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at First Church of God 215 S Perry Ave in Ft Meade, FL. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery Columbarium in Bushnell, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to First Church of God Ft Meade, FL.
