Mr. Charles "Mark" McCurry, age 65, of Kingsport, died Monday April 28, 2014 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. A native of Yancey County, NC, Mr. McCurry was born on November 9, 1948, the son of the late Hartsell Ford and Grace Ball McCurry. Prior to his retirement, he served with the U.S. Air Force and was employed with the Dept. of Defense as a QA Representative. Mr. McCurry was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Scott Temples of Fort Worth, Texas. Three brothers, David (Linda) McCurry of Johnson City, Rev. Hartsell (Shirley) McCurry, Jr. of Morristown, and Jonathan "Jon" McCurry of Adairsville, Georgia. One grandson, Collin Temples of Fort Worth, Texas. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mr. McCurry will be conducted on Thursday evening, May 1, 2014 at 8 p.m. from the chapel of the East Lawn Funeral Home with his brother, Rev. Hartsell F. McCurry, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow on Friday morning, May 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the Garden of David with military honors.The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
