Weaver W. Leid, 94, of Ephrata, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018, at his residence.
Born in Caernarvon Township, he was the son of the late Aaron G. and Mary M. (Weaver) Leid and was the husband of Lizzie M. (Burkholder) Leid.
Weaver was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. He was a farmer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven sons, Aaron, husband of Lizzie (Redcay) Leid of Ephrata, Allen, husband of Emma (Horst) Leid of Orrstown, Melvin, husband of Ella (Hoover) Leid of Shippensburg, Titus, husband of Mabel (Horst) Leid of Stevens, Paul, husband of Wilma (Oberholtzer) Leid of Ephrata, Weaver, Jr., husband of Ada (Oberholtzer) Leid of Ephrata, Lawrence, husband of Susan (Rissler) Leid of Ephrata; seven daughters, Alta, wife of Ira Hoover of Penn Yan, NY, Edna Leid of Ephrata, Anna wife of John Hoover of Ephrata, Ada Leid of Ephrata, Laura, wife of Elam Zimmerman of Dundee, NY, Lizzie, wife of Lawrence Zimmerman of Denver, Mary, wife of Stephen Martin of Denver; 95 grandchildren; 228 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Alice Hoover of East Earl.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter; three brothers and four sisters.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at the Lawrence Leid residence, 192 Slate Rd., Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, at 9 am, at the residence, with further services at 9:30 am, from Martindale Mennonite (Frame) Church, 905 Martindale Road, Martindale, with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
