Harold Junior Bivens, age 80, of Summerow Road in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the Frye Hospital in Hickory, North Carolina.
His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Little and Rev. Richard Jenkins officiating. Burial followed in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Warlick Funeral Home. At all other times, the family was gathering at the home of Mr. Bivens’ son at 2613 Summerow Road in Lincolnton.
Mr. Bivens was born January 3, 1938, in Lincoln County, to the late John Lourico Bivens and Maebell Canipe Bivens. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Byrd Bivens; two brothers, infant, Johnnie Ray and brother Bobby; an infant sister,. Also preceding him death were 3 grandchildren, Daniel, Dustin, and Andrew.
He retired from Vermont American Tool Company after thirty-three years of service making tap & dye; and also retired from Lincoln County waste management as a worker at the Webbs convenience site.
He is survived by a son and five daughters all of Lincolnton, two brothers ; three sisters, 3 sister-in-laws; 6 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, ; and his beloved dog, Sally.
