Douglas Albert Marsh

Douglas Albert Marsh was born to Dwain and Jean Marsh, August 30, 1948 in Harvey, IL. He grew up an athlete, playing numerous sports but excelled in diving where he competed at the collegiate level. He graduated in 1966 from Thornton Township High School in Harvey, IL. He attended Murray State University where he received his Business degree in 1971. Doug met his bride to be, Linda Vittone at the age of 26 and married her a year later. He worked for the City of Harvey until moving to Steamboat Springs, CO in 1978; where Doug and Linda decided to put roots down and had 3 beautiful children, Eric, David, and Kelly. He was a dedicated family man, always giving his love and support. During his years in Steamboat he enjoyed playing golf, coaching his kids in sports, and spending time with friends and family. He was a man of integrity and became a very involved community member that everyone loved and respected. He worked for the City of Steamboat Springs for 35 years until retiring in 2013. Doug and his wife retired to Sarasota, FL where they enjoyed sunshine and amazing beaches. Although they enjoyed their new climate, they got home sick and missed their children. They made their way back to Colorado in May of 2016, settling in Parker. Doug and Linda recently celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary in October, 2016. Doug passed away Friday, January 13th, 2017 at University of Colorado Hospital, surrounded by his wife, two sons, and daughter. He was 68 years old.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Marsh; son Eric Marsh, Angela Marsh (wife of Eric); son David Marsh; daughter Kelly Marsh; his brothers and sisters, Garry Marsh, Gayle Letke, Donna Pape, Dwaine Marsh Jr, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date this spring or summer in Steamboat Springs, CO.

"Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I'll miss you until we meet again."

In lieu of flowers, the Marsh family asks that you donate to the American Heart Association in his name.
