Melissa Ann Murphy, 14, of 15 Bowen St. died Friday at home after a long illness.
Melissa was born in Auburn, where she was a ninth grader at Auburn High School. Before her illness, she was active at Donna's Dance Center.
Melissa was a member of the National Honor Society. She was also a past member of the field hockey team at East Middle School.
She was a communicant of Owasco Reformed Church.
Surviving are her parents, James S. and Debra A. Seamans Murphy; her paternal grandmother, Mildred Murphy of Owasco; her maternal grandparents, Barbara Seamans of Locke, and Gerald and Mary Jane Seamans of Moravia; and several aunts and uncles.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Owasco Reformed Church, the Rev. Peter Hartmans officiating. Burial will be in Owasco Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Farrell Funeral Home, 84 South St.
