Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
A native of Fulton, MS, she was a retired Teacher and a member of the Methodist Faith. Lura was a loving mother, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She enjoyed traveling and casinos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Trannie Sylvester Stanford and Minnie Owens Stanford; her husband, William Carl Parker; and her brothers, William Jefferson Stanford, Georgie Keldon Stanford, and Edsel Cleston Stanford.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Ann Parker, Alice Parker; her nieces and nephews, and many friends.
