Maurice A. "BO" Lewis, Jr. passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 in Nashville, TN.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Bettie Austin Lewis; parents, Maurice "Tudy" and Betty Pauline Lewis; brother, Eddie Lewis and daughter, Marcia Lamberth.

Survived by his wife, Peggy Smith Lewis; daughters, Kathy (Barry) Buntin, Karen Van El Dik and son, Russ (Teresa) Smith, 7 cherished grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Central High School, joined the US Navy during WWII serving on the U.S.S.Demeter (ARB-10). Upon discharge he worked for the Veterans Administration for 4 years and US Army Corps of Engineers for 38 years before retiring. He was an active member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church, National Active and Retired Federal Employee Association (NARFE), Chapter 1576 and American Legion Post 88. He also was a "Gold Coat" employee for the Vanderbilt Athletic Department for 35 years.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 8, at 4 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, at Hermitage Hills Baptist Church, 3475 Lebanon Pike, Hermitage, TN.

Service will be conducted by Dr. Poly Rouse and Brother Harry Jester.

Honorary Pallbearers are Hermitage Hills New Beginnings Life Group and members of NARFE.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Hermitage Hills Baptist Church, "Take Us to the Edge" Fund.
