William L. “Bill” Hockenbury 75, of Wyoming, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
A funeral service for Bill will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2018 at Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Wyoming. Rev. Joseph Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.
Bill was born September 26, 1942 in Eureka, the son of Marion and Orva Blumenshine Hockenbury. He graduated from Toulon Grade School in 1956 and Washington Community High School in 1960. He married Patsy J. Harlan Porter December 21, 1974 at the Wyoming Baptist Church. He worked in janitorial service for Caterpillar, retiring in 1994 after 30 years. Bill was a member of the Wyoming Baptist Church. He enjoyed socializing, visiting with friends, and spreading the word of God.
Bill is survived by his wife Patsy, three sons, Daniel and Steve of Wyoming, Tim (Jane) of Racine, WI; two daughters, Julie (Steve) Hansard of Wyoming, Crystal (Mark) Ouart of Kewanee; one brother, Gene (Emmy) Hockenbury of Salt Lake City, UT; seven grandsons, Shaun, Jesse, Ryan, Brett, Austin, Marcus, Nic; one granddaughter, Emali and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marilyn and Erma; and two brothers, David and Lydon.
