Born June 9, 1935 in Deer Creek to Joseph Renic and Dorothy Mary (Hayes) Bennett, she married Edward L. Myers in 1970 in Tremont. He died January 15, 1986 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Pullum; one brother, Charles William Bennett; one sister, Mary Jane Hazlett and two grandsons.
Surviving are one daughter, Debra Ann Wilson of Peoria; two sons, Ronald Clark and Jack Lester Evans, both of Missouri; one step-daughter, Susan (Harold) Blanchard of Newport Richey, Florida; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Walter (Linda) Bennett, Joseph Daniel (Judy) Bennett, both of Pekin and one sister, Patricia Ann Barker of Pekin.
Jackie retired from K-Mart with 24 years of service in 1996. The then worked for K & M Associates Jewelry Sales, last working in 2003. She had previously worked at Pekin Hospital, Peoria State Hospital and Thrifty Drugs.
She had been a longtime member of the Roy L. King Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1232 Ladies Auxiliary.
Jackie enjoyed reading, crocheting and fishing.
A former member of Parkway Christian Church in Pekin, she attended Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Imhoff Cemetery near Congerville.
