Leon Charles Barton, 66, of Northport, passed away April 16, 2016.

Born January 24, 1950 to Leon and Beatrice (Seekins) Barton, Leon grew up on a dairy farm before serving in the US Army. He spent almost 50 years as a big-rig truck driver. He belonged to the Maine Antique Tractor Organization and also assisted at auctions with the skills of an auctioneer. Leon loved to hunt, fish and tell stories. He was a very caring and thoughtful man, always generous to those in his life.

Leon was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Mary J. (Rumney) Barton.

He leaves behind his step-mother, Judith Barton; sisters: Leone Harriman and husband Fred of Northport and Fern Dell Barton of Bayside (Northport); brother Frederick W. Barton of Farmington; half-sisters Cheryl McCauley and husband Sam of Swanville and Vicki Knowlton of Northport; five grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend Betty Kenniston and his four-legged friends Snoopy and Romeo.

A graveside service will be held Saturday May 14th at 11:00am at Little River Cemetery, Northport. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Northport VFW Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leon's name to the Maine Antique Tractor Club or the American Heart Society, PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005
