Alma Joyce(Jones) Bowhuis Harris , 74 passed away July 13, 2018 in Oklahoma City. She was born October 25, 1943 in Holdenville to Cary Monroe Jones and Addene Virginia (Walls) Jones. She graduated from Great Hills High School in Maryland. She returned to Holdenville in 1965. She married Larry Gene Harris on January 17, 1978 in Holdenville. She worked for Dr. Kerneck for 16 years as a physicians assistant. Afterward, she worked for over six years for Holdenville Public School in the Lunch Program. She was a longtime member of the First Church of God in Holdenville. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She like to watch softball games and showing cars.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Marion Jones, Jackie Jones and Earl Jones.
Survivors include her husband Larry Harris, children James Harris and wife Susannah of Horntown, Bernita Bowhuis of Horntown, grandchildren Billy Price of Holdenville and Shaylnn Harris, Zoe Harris and Levi Knox all of Horntown, siblings Johnny Abraham and wife Diane of Worthen, Texas, Paul Jones and wife Kathy of Sasakwa, Angela Moya and husband Brick of Corsicana, Texas, Vickie Mitchell and husband Paul of Tulsa, Donna Morril of Tulsa, Glenda Emerson of Blackwell, and Linda Davis of Irvin, Texas, as well as a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service has been scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.
