JUDY CAROL SHORT
January 08, 1948 ~ July 11, 2018

Judy Carol Short, 70, of Lawton, died peacefully in hospice care following a prolonged illness and hospitalization, on July 11, 2018.

Judy was born January 8, 1948 in Nashville, Tennessee to Thomas O'Dell Denson and Vernie Mai Wallace Denson. She married Hanley Eugene Short of Lawton, OK on March 29, 1994 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Judy is survived by her husband Hanley, as well her sons and grandchildren: son Phil Frazier of Oklahoma City, OK, and his wife Linda (Smith), along with their children Phillip Kyle Frazier of Lubbock, TX and Kami Nicole Frazier of Oklahoma City, OK; son Jon Frazier of Queens, NY; grandson Tavish Vane Frazier (14), and his mother Lourdene Vane of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter Magan Brock Spearing, her husband Timothy of Raeford, NC, and their three sons Nathanial (10), Franklin, (8), Samuel, (4).

Judy was preceded in death by her infant son David Kessler Jones, and her daughter, Donna Frazier Brock.

Judy was a long-time resident of Lawton, OK. She was a Barber and Hair Designer for over 40 years and enjoyed the friendship of many loyal clients.

Judy loved music and was a wonderful singer who enjoyed many years sharing her gift, including with the Sweet Adelines. Her highest honor, love and passion was helping others and serving as a devoted Christian. She touched many lives during her 30 years as a Church of Christ Sunday school teacher.

Judy was a crafter and sewer whose resourcefulness helped create wonderful teaching materials, scrapbooks, and gifts.

Her charitable, generous nature and call to help others was her passion and mission. Judy loved children and was a foster mother to many throughout her life. Her love and compassion will be missed. Donations in her honor may be made to: 8th and Lee Church of Christ, PO Box 285, Lawton, OK 73502.

Funeral service for Judy Carol Short will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 16, 2018 at 8th & Lee Church of Christ with Steven Patterson, minister officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Viewing will be from 8:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday.

The family will greet friends from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
