Charles Thomas "Chuck" Newton, 62 of Benton, KY died on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, KY.
Born Thursday, June 7, 1956 in Benton, KY, he was the son of the late Homer Newton and Willie Irene Collins Edwards. He was the husband of Marilyn Miller Newton.
He was the owner and operator of Karate Elite for 30 years. Through karate he and his wife had many children whom they adored dearly. He loved golfing and was an avid golfer and he was a member of Pathway Baptist Church
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marilyn Miller Newton of Benton, KY; brothers, Carl J. Newton and wife Sue of Benton, KY, George T. Newton and wife Brenda of Benton, KY, Gerald Edwards of Benton, KY; sisters, Judy McLeod of Benton, KY, Margaret McLeod of Princeton, KY, Kathy King of Benton, KY; sister in law, Marilyn Newton of Benton, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, brother, Homer Newton and sister, Elizabeth Irene Turner.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Collier Funeral Home, located at 211 West 5th Benton, KY 42025 with the Rev. Mike Donald officiating.
Interment will follow in Hiett Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, July 16, 2018, at Collier Funeral Home.
