Henry Reginald Berry went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.
A celebration of his life will be on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Nocona with Donny Haywood officiating with visitation at 10:00 A.M. before the service at 10:30.
Interment: 1:00 P.M. at Rosston Cemetery under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
A son of the late R. C. (Dude) & Bula Mae (Monroe ) Berry, Henry was born June 29, 1940 in Decatur, Texas. He grew up in Morse and Forestburg and graduated from Forestburg High School in 1958. Henry said the most important date in his life was July 21, 1963 when he became a Christian. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Nocona. Henry always said being a Mason helped him be a better Christian. He was a fifty-year member of Forestburg Masonic Lodge #523 and Dallas Scottish Rite. He married Phyllis Vaughn on December 1, 1967, and they were blessed with two sons. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2017. Henry worked ten years for General Motors in Arlington, and owned and operated Farmer's Creek Dairy for twenty-six years. Since 2000, he has owned and operated Farmer's Creek Angus Farms. He served on several boards: Farmer's Creek Watershed Board, Upper Elm Red Soil & Water Conservation Board, and Montague County Livestock Committee. He received the Outstanding Conservation Farmer Award in 1982, Farmer of the Year in 1983, and Outstanding Agriculture Award in 1990.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, a child, and a granddaughter, Victoria Rose Berry.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Vaughn) Berry, two sons, Henry Reece Berry & wife, Christy, William Todd Berry & wife, Cristal, and four grandchildren: Crissa Elaine Berry, Caila Marie Berry, Hayden Reece Berry, & Hallie Kate Berry all of Nocona, and one brother, Mike Berry & wife Linda of Era, Texas.
